Gujarati Learning Center - (GLC) is part of Pushtimargiya Vaishnav Parivar of Seattle - VIPO a non-profit corporation.

Gujarati Learning Center has completed 4 years successfully, and now it's time for the year 2023.

For the year 2023, Classes will start from Sunday, 12th March 2023 and will run till Sunday, 3rd December 2023, on alternate Sundays. Summer Schedule may vary and classes may get conducted on weekdays based on consensus.

Where:

As of now we are only offering ONLINE classes thru Google Classroom. We may offer In-Person classes in or around bothell area,  based on parents and teachers' consensus for LEVEL-1 and LEVEL-2 or LEVEL-3 or LEVEL-4 classes.

Class Schedule  - As of now ONLINE CLASSES ONLY, unless stated as in-person classes;  Online classes will be conducted thru Google Classroom, Google Meet 

Level-1:

- Alternate Thursdays - 5:30pm to 6:30pm

Level-2:

-  Alternate Thursdays -  6:30pm to 7:30pm

Level-3: *In-Person* classes in Bothell, WA

- Alternate Sundays - 10:30am to 11:30am , *In July-August classes may be on 2nd & 4th Thursdays @5:30pm

Level-4:  - Alternate Sundays - 3:30pm to 4:30pm, In July-August classes will be on alternate Wednesdays, @6:30pm

Level-5: - Alternate Tuesdays - 7pm to 8pm

Level-6: - Alternate Sundays - 5:00pm to 6:30pm, In July-August classes will be on alternate Wednesdays @5:30pm

Level-7: TBD - we will focus on conducting classes per need basis - which will focus on covering topics for Gujarati Language Test getting conducted by NSD.

What do we offer?

We have highly qualified Gujarati teacher volunteers to teach Gujarati. 

The focus of Gujarati Learning Center will always be to make their students proficient in Reading, Writing, Listening, and Speaking Gujarati Language and at the end to make them ready for the Language test.

Fees include all the classwork material, homework material, and access to GLC-PVPS Library.

• GLC-PVPS Library will offer Gujarati, Indian Cultural/Educational/Inspirational - books in Gujarati and English.
• Opportunity to participate in Cultural Programs (Gujarati  - Poem Recitals, Speech, Dance, etc.)
• Unit tests and End-of-Year Test
• Graduation Ceremony/Annual Function

Levels by Age-Group:

This year classes will run in four different levels by age group, so each group can have some level of social, emotional, and academic skills. This can benefit them to get along with each other easily in the group, which can make them learn successfully in a group and students part of the group can progress as one single entity.

Level-1: Bal Mandir - Age 3 & 4 

Syllabus: Speaking, Listening, Recognizing - Gujarati Alphabets, Numbers - Vegetables, Fruits, Animals, Poem, Stories, Games.

Level-2: Age 5 years and above -

Syllabus: Reading/Writing/Speaking/Listening Gujarati Kakko, Numbers (1 to 20), Vegetables, Fruits, Animals, Poem, Stories, Games.

Level-3: Age 6 years and above  - 

Syllabus: Reading/Writing/Speaking/Listening Gujarati  - Kakko Revision Barakhari Introduction (6 Vowels) and Numbers 1 to 40 OR 50.

-- Kakko (Gujarati Alphabets) and 

-- 1 to 20 Gujarati Numbers,  

Level-4: Age 7 Years and above - 

Syllabus: Reading/Writing/Speaking/Listening Gujarati - Kakko Revision, Barakhari Revision ( 6 Vowels), Finish Barakhari (Kakko Revision Barakhari Introduction (6 Vowels).,Easy Gujarati Reading, Numbers: 1 to 70, Start of Grammar - (Plural, Singular, Adjectives, etc.) if time permits*

- Must know 

-- Kakko (Gujarati Alphabets) and 

-- 1 to 40 Gujarati Numbers

Level-5  - Age 8 Years and above

Syllabus:  Reading/Writing/Speaking/Listening Gujarati Must know easy Gujarati Reading/Writing,  Numbers: 1to 100, Grammar - (Plural, Singular, Adjectives, etc.) and Beginning Essay Writing - 3 to 5 sentences at-least.

-- Easy Gujarati Reading

Level-6 -  Age 10 & above,  

Syllabus: We will teach Essay Writing, Speaking, Two-way conversations, Reading  - Must know Jodakshar reading. We will cover intermediate Gujarati reading (Gujarati text book Grade:2 and 3), Grammar, Numbers: 1to 100

Admission Fees:

1) For Level-2 & Above:

   100$/Year - Covers 20 classes, each class will be 60 to 120 minutes long, younger kids will have 60 to 90 minutes of class, 

      while elder kids (Level-4 and above) may have 90 to 120 minutes of class.

2)  For Level 1:

 60$/Year - Covers 19 classes, each class will be 45 to 60 minutes long

GLC - Bothell: We had 19 students enrolled.

GLC - Bellevue: We had 4 students enrolled.

PVPS's Work of Year-2022:

• PVPS donates -  more than 1000 lbs of food to 4 local food banks (Northshore senior center, Skyview Middle School Food Pantry, Mill Creek Food Bank, Renewal Food Bank (Bellevue)) around Seattle area in Annual Food Drive 
• PVPS donates,  500$ to AIM FOR SEWA 501c3 non-profit (to support education of children in Rural India)
• PVPS orgranizes completely free online summer event (Janmashtami Program), at cost of ~550$, distributing goodies to more than 40 participants and teen volunteers to encourage their efforts.
• PVPS hosts FREE - Pravachan (Spiritual Talk)  in May-2022 at Hindu Temple and Cultural Center in Bothell, followed by Prasad (Dinner).
• PVPS hosts Diwali/Annakut (Grand Potluck) Event at Junaita Community Club, Kirkland with nominal suggested donation. 
• PVPS conducts Pathshala classes every 3rd Sunday of the month (Completely FREE)
